Current pay range for this position is reasonably expected to range from $75,000 – $125,000. This position is an exempt, full-time position. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
Position Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of EH&S, including but not limited to: recordkeeping, safety audits, field inspections, training, and accident investigations for both companies
- As a first responder, must be willing to be on-call to provide support 24/7 to operations and respond to all emergency calls.
- Participate/lead in RCFA for any incidents, oil spills, near misses, property loss & damages.
- Assist with developing EH&S programs and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state and county regulations. Listed below are some of the programs but not limited to:
- Fall Protection
- Energy Control Procedures
- H2S – Response, Monitor Calibration, Tracking
- Heat Illness
- Confined Space
- Pre-Job Planning
- Rig Inspection Audits
- Safe Driving/Defensive Driving
- HMBP – Hazardous Materials Business Plan
- Hazardous Waste Management
- Leak Detection and Repair
- Maintain and manage USA Dig Alert program for facility and pipeline mapping, and line locating.
- Maintain CalOSHA 300 logs.
- Maintain and track Key Performance Indicators.
- Maintain the vehicle GPS program for all CRM & DWS company vehicles.
- Provide EH&S technical, regulatory and compliance support, guidance, and training interdepartmentally at all levels for both companies.
- Conduct EH&S inspections, field reviews to identify issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Conduct monthly safety meetings & annual training.
- Conduct new hire safety orientation training.
- Maintain and track all applicable employee training documentation.
- Manage Non-DOT and DOT D&A program for both companies.
- Maintain a strong field presence with all field personnel.
- Monthly inspections/maintenance for all safety equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Able to work in various outdoor conditions that include inclement weather e.g. heat, cold, humidity, etc.
- Able to wear personal protective equipment when required;
- Lift and carry items weighing approximately 10 pounds and ability to bend, stoop, climb;
- Required to use hands and arms to perform routine office tasks e.g., typing, use of printer/scanner, answering phone;
- Ability to stand, walk and sit up to 8 or more hours per day.
- Driving is an essential part of this position and must be able to drive unaccompanied on various road types e.g. gravel, dirt, highway, etc.
Critical Skills and Knowledge:
- At least 5 – 10 years’ experience with EH&S compliance, related to the oil and gas industry.
- Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA laws and regulations.
- The ability to interact and build relationships with people at all levels and communicate sensitive and complicated issues seamlessly to a diverse worker group.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Able to be a self-starter and must be able to work independently and work well as a team player.
- Able to use judgment in data analysis to assist in developing and design solutions to resolve EH&S regulatory and technical issues.
- Able to successfully manage multiple projects along with daily responsibilities.
- Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, etc.
- Must have good driving record (MVR will be verified).
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment or related field and/or at least 5 – 10 years of work experience in EH&S in oil and gas or construction industry.
- BCP certifications CSP, ASP, CHST, preferred.
